Three children, with hearing and speech disabilities, were killed after a suburban train ran over them while they were trying to cross the railway tracks near the Urapakkam railway station in Tamil Nadu’s Chengalpattu on Tuesday.
The three kids, aged between 10 and 15, were from Karnataka. Their parents were daily wage earners in Chennai.
“Of the three, the two brothers were deaf and dumb while the third one could not speak,” a police officer said, PTI reported.
The railway police have registered a case and an investigation is underway.
